Nepenthes Clone Guidelines

To give you an idea about our offers here is a rough guideline:

Labelled clones (LC):
In the past we did not market Nepenthes on clonal base. With the expansion of our nursery and the space we gained, we will offer more and more species and hybrids labelled with the clone numbers from our own tissue culture lab.
These clones are offered in the shop with our AW- code or just as labelled clones (LC) leaving us the choice, which labelled clone to ship.

In addition to labelled clones we offer:

Individual Seedling Clones (ISC)
That is what many refer to as "seed grown plants". We try to avoid this misleading term since (1) all plants originally come from seeds and (2) this term often is used as a synonym and a nicer word for a poached plant. Our "ISC" plants in most cases originate from seeds produced in our greenhouses or in cooperation with other growers. All these offerings are strictly limited! When the stock of individual seedlings is sold, we might either stop offering the species or hybrid or offer selected or pooled clones (RSC) as an alternative.

Randomly selected clones (RSC)
After having sold most of the ISC plants (see above) we usually keep a number of clones separate as labelled clones for tissue culture propagation and as backup clones in our ever growing "In Vitro clone bank" for future use. The number varies between 1 and 20 depending on the rarity of the species or hybrid. The rest of remaining seedings usually is pooled and propagated in vitro for random selection. Plants from this pool are offered as "Randomly selected clones (RSC)".
