Squamellaria

Squamellaria imberbis (Vanua Levu Island, Fiji)

A small genus of epiphytic ant plants. Originally they were considered to be endemic to Fiji. These "original" Squamellarias are among the most bizarre of all Hydnophytinae. Today more species that were previously classified under Hydnophytum are considered to belong to the genus Squamellaria.

It took us several years of trial and error to propagate a few species in very small quantities. This is the first time the members of this spectacula genus become available commercially.
